JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK - ROCK CLIMBING SKILLS BOOSTER COURSE
JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK - ROCK CLIMBING SKILLS BOOSTER COURSE
We're bringing a team of seasoned guides to Joshua Tree National Park to open their guide notebooks to you. Five days of epic climbing, campfire storytelling, educational booster courses, multi-pitch trad and sport climbing, single pitch skills practice, bouldering competitions and movement skills practice.
We've secured a group campsite (bring your own camping equipment) near super classic climbs, and convinced a few of the AMGA's top guides to hang with us for five days of epic guiding and instruction. Whether you are new to the sport of rock climbing or a top climber, this is an event you won't want to miss.
BEGINNER CLIMBERS
This is a great event for novice and beginner climbers. We'll teach you the ropes. You'll learn about knots, equipment, proper belay techniques and the basic safety information you'll need to get out on the rocks and have a great time with your friends. You will also have access to guided single and multi-pitch climbs, as well as access to courses on trad climbing and multi-pitch techniques.
INTERMEDIATE CLIMBERS
If you've been climbing for a while and are ready to take your climbing to the next level, you will not be disappointed. We're providing Anchor and Rescue Courses (Level 1) as well as Advanced Rescue and Rappelling Classes (Level 2). You will also have access to guided single and multi-pitch climbs, as well as access to courses on trad climbing and multi-pitch techniques.
ADVANCED CLIMBERS
So you've been climbing for years I know, you're pretty bad ass. We've got a guide on our team that will take you to new heights. They'll lead you up Joshua Tree's most challenging climbs. Or, if you're looking for a climbing partner that can hang with you, we've got a guide for you. They will follow your lead and offer critiques and suggestions to take your climbing to the next level. This is your opportunity to climb with and pick the minds of some of the West's best climbing guides. Let us help you take your climbing to a new level.
REST DAYS
We recommend that you take a rest day every once in a while. This helps to avoid injury and allows your body to heal itself so you can climb hard the next day. Rest days are great opportunities to take Level 1 or Level 2 Anchor and Rescue courses, or to simply go for a hike and explore the area.
NON-GUIDED DAYS
Part of developing yourself as a climber is getting out there and climbing on your own, using the skills and techniques you've learned to safely and competently pass plateaus and progress ceilings. We encourage you to climb with others in the group, and practice the skills that you've learned from our guides, then come back to camp at the end of your day and share your stories of success and failure.
CAMPFIRE GUIDE/BETA SESSIONS
Each night our guides will set aside time to provide beta on the area. They'll recommend climbs to practice the skills you want/need to learn and improve upon. We'll teach you how to keep and maintain a climbing log, how to read climbing maps and select routes. This is your opportunity to pick the minds of the local experts and have some fun around the campfire.
