RESPONDING TO COVID-19

DECEMBER 8, 2020 : UPDATE

We’ve officially just received notice from the City Attorney’s Office that we are allowed to remain open, and continue running our outdoor workshops.

The city places us within the same category as an outdoor fitness group, and are thereby restricted to group sizes of 12 or less (previously these groups were limited to 25), with mandatory face-masks and social distancing.

In an abundance of caution, we’ve implemented these policies since June 15th (prior to these [new] Dec. 6, 2020 restrictions), with maximum group size limits of 10, face-masks being mandatory, utilizing stand-alone workstations for training, and socially distancing all participants throughout the day.

I do hope that you’ll continue to look to us for training, and know that we will always take your safety seriously.

JUNE 15, 2020 : UPDATE

As of June 15th, our business has been allowed to reopen.

We are currently running our ground-school only workshops (our Trad climbing workshops are still on-hold), in compliance with much of the climbing areas still remaining closed.

In addition, we’ve made use of our closure time to update our teaching equipment, and build stand alone workstations that allow us to work independent from each other.

Students must now bring all of their own equipment, or rent a full kit from us (kits are sanitized prior to the workshop). Masks are required at all times.

Dear SAANO Adventure’s Community:

Your safety and the safety of our community is always our number one priority. To ensure that we are keeping our clients, students, instructors, and community as a whole at a safe distance from the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) we have temporarily suspended all programming through March.

April, May, June, July…programming will be addressed on a rolling basis. As long as Shelter-In-Place (S.I.P.) order are in place in our communities, we will adhere to those orders and will not be running programming.

We are also suspending our cancellation policies. If you can transfer from a cancelled program to a later date, as a small business, we would greatly appreciate your commitment to us. However, if you are in hard times and would like a refund, we are happy to accommodate your request.

During these times we ask that you stay healthy by eating well, taking vitamins, and washing your hands. Please refrain from going out of your home if you are sick, but do get outside and get some vitamin sun and vitamin exercise if you are not sick and can keep yourself a safe distance from others.

Try and stay productive in your personal and professional, and support your local communities and small businesses.

For more information on how to stay healthy and informed please visit the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) webpage.

We’re in this with you, and we will be here for your rock climbing and training needs when this is all over.

Doing your part…

We ask that you respect the small communities that surround our favorite climbing, camping, and hiking locations. These communities are not well suited to handle the influx of visitors trying to escape the S.I.P. orders of the big cities.

We are all navigating complex and new terrain with this virus, here are what some of our partners in the community are doing as well:
